Yosemite 2000

When I first came out to California on a family trip for my graduation, my mother arranged for us to take a day trip to Yosemite. She had memories of being there many years ago at the same time as Kennedy and wanted to get back. When I saw Yosemite for that first time I was awed as if I had seen the face of God. This place started my love of the mountains which has grown ever since.

In 2000 I talked Kevin into going over to Yosemite for a weekend excursion. Living up in the Bay Area put us quite close to begin with. The falls were going full force and the roar of water filled the valley. I was glad to be able to share this special place with him at such a perfect time and wish I could show it to everyone.

The Photographs

These pictures were taken with my old Miranda system at the tail end of the Kodak color print film and also a roll of Plus-X. Again, my old camera was exhibiting some light leakage from the back cover that's apparent in the color shots. The B&W seems to have fared better, probably since it was a slower speed film.
