Los Padres NF, Santa Cruz Trail

December 2004

After a night of heavy partying, a couple of friends in town wanted to go out hiking. They had never been back in the mountains here before so I took them to one of my favorite little trails, the Santa Cruz trail. I used to hike this trail quite a bit in the past but hadn't been on it in a number of years. I forgot how dramatic the changes in terrain were on the trail. From canyon rivers to exposed ridges this trail has it all, with Little Pine Top beckoning you on. We didn't have enough time to make it to Little Pine Top, but we did have enough time to let me take some wonderful pictures. Surprisingly I had never photographed this trail and had forgotten how rich it really is. It really brings forth some of the true beauty of these mountains.

The Photographs

These pictures were taken with my Minolta system. I was in a B&W mood so I used a roll of Scala 200 (and maybe went a bit too abstract at times...). Click "Next" in the upper right to begin.
